Materials

  • 10 ounces distilled water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 ounces lye flakes
  • 6 ounces coconut oil
  • 4 ounces Shea butter
  • 28 ounces olive oil
  • 2 ounces castor oil
  • 1 ounce essential oil of your choosing (optional)

Procedure of Making

There is an interesting fact about this kind of soaps and that is, they look very fancy and they are really easy to make. Let us show you the procedure of making soap for sensitive skin:

Cut the soap base into small pieces like in cube shapes, it would have approximately 1 in / 2.5 cm in size.
Add the soap cubes into a jug or container that can resist the heat of microwave.

Melt the soap in the microwave with medium power in 1-minute breaks. During the break. Take out the soap of the microwave and stir. Melt and pour soap could cause burn. Beware of melting in short bursts and stirring help to avoid that.

Once the soap is melted completely then add the cucumber seed oil, vitamin E, and other essential oils. Stir the soap well so that it can combine the ingredients together.

Next, pour the liquid soap into the silicone mold. To dissolve the bubbles use some spritz with alcohol though it is optional.
Keep the mold in the refrigerator about 1.5 to 2 hours or until the soap gets hard and solid. Carefully unmold the soap bars by peel back the silicone.

Caution

Lye is a dangerous chemical. It can burn the skin and eyes and also harmful when inhaled. Always be on guard and wear protective gear when using lye, and work in an open aired area.

Add Fragrance (Optional)

To add essential oil for fragrance to your soap bar. Simply add the fragrance to the mixture, and stir it well. This is also the step to include any other additives with your creative idea, such as chamomile or lavender flowers.

However, to make this soap for sensitive skin for someone, be sure that they aren’t sensitive to the additives that you are adding.

You can use an oil that’s been soak with a skin-friendly herb, like lavender or chamomile.
